Skal Orlando Young Skal Program Continues Path of Growth and Success
Five New Young Skal Members Inducted For 2018

ORLANDO, Florida (June 7, 2018) –   Ranked as the second largest Skal Club in the United States and among the top 10 in the world, Skal International Orlando has inducted four new Young Skal Student Members currently studying Hospitality Management and one Young Skal Associate recently employed at an area hotel.

The Young Skal Program at Skal Orlando began in 2008 with Dr. Abe Pizam, Dr. Wilfred Iskat, Skal Orlando Past Presidents Barbara Kenney and Carlton Hudson, and Tom White, Past President Skal Orlando and Skal USA.  Since then, more than 30 students studying hospitality management have been welcomed by Central Florida industry leaders and mentors to assist them with their knowledge and experience.  The new Dean of UCF Rosen College, Dr. Youcheng Wang, is now actively involved in the Young Skal Program and process.

“We are so proud of our Young Skal program and the commitment that are members have made to embracing these outstanding young people who are the future of our hospitality, travel and tourism industry,” said John Stine, President of Skal International Orlando.  Congratulations to Direne Falcon, Dalanique Horne, Tania Imani, Jessica McKinney and Kiara Miranda Berrios and to our Young Skal Chair, Stefanie Zambelli, who started membership in our club herself as a Young Skal Member and is internationally engaged with the Young Skal Program with Skal world wide.”

According to Stine, Skal Orlando has done much to personally meet with Young Skal members while also giving them job shadowing and internship opportunities.  Several have hired Young Skal graduates in their hotels, restaurants, and event venues in professional areas such as desk, marketing, social media, events and call center operations.”
